Overview

The evidence behind

the outcomes

The postpartum period is one of the most medically significant and underserved windows in a woman's health journey. Between discharge and the traditional 6-week checkup, new mothers navigate dramatic physical recovery, hormonal shifts, sleep deprivation, and the overwhelming demands of infant care — largely without structured clinical support.

CAPPA's Postpartum Health program fills this care gap with structured education, mental health screening, nutrition guidance, and personalized coaching from birth through the full postpartum recovery period. By meeting mothers digitally — where they actually are — the program removes the transportation, scheduling, and childcare barriers that keep too many from accessing the support they need.

How It Works

From enrollment

to outcomes

01

Prenatal Preparation

Beginning in the third trimester, participants receive education on what to expect postpartum — physical recovery, mental health, breastfeeding, and infant care — so they enter the postpartum period informed.

02

Early Postpartum Support

In the first two weeks after birth, structured check-ins and validated mental health screenings (EPDS) identify participants at risk for postpartum depression or anxiety and connect them with appropriate resources.

03

Physical Recovery Guidance

Evidence-based guidance on nutrition for recovery and breastfeeding, pelvic floor health, safe return to activity, and wound healing supports physical recovery across the full postpartum timeline.

04

Ongoing Maternal Wellness

Beyond physical recovery, the program addresses maternal identity, relationship wellness, return-to-work planning, and long-term health habits — supporting the whole woman, not just the birth event.
